How to enable writing mode?

To enable writing mode, you need to add keys. To do that, google and download file key_retail.bin. Then open this file with the Ally app, and writing mode will be activated. After that, you will be able to write to blank tags.

How to import multiple files?

To import multiple files with Ally you need to tap and hold on the [+] button on the amiibo screen till the import menu appears. Then select Import from Files, and on the Files screen, select the [...] button. Then tap on the "Select" menu and select multiple files to import.

How can I rewrite the NTAG215 to write another amiibo on it?

NTAG215 can be only written once. This is a hardware limitation of the tag. If you want to rewrite tags, then N2 or PowerTag should be used.

How to fix PowerTag writing issues?

If you used PowerTag with a PowerSaves device before, most likely, PowerTag will have a different serial number, and it needs to be reset. In that case, Ally will show you the following error message: "Found PowerTag with bad serial. Please reset it with PowerSaves adapter."

To do that, you need to write the following bin file to PowerTag using the PowerSaves device, and then your tag will be reset and ready to be used with Ally.

How to randomize amiibo serial on N2?

Tap and hold on the Amiibo slot from the N2 screen to open quick actions. If the writing mode is enabled, there will be an extra action in the quick actions menu to Randomize Amiibo serial. This function is added if you want to use Amiibo as many times as you want without a need to wait till another day in games like Zelda - Breath of the Wild. The good thing is the actual Amiibo data dump won't be affected, and only an N2 copy of the Amiibo will have a different serial number. So your source data will remain safe and legit.

How to disable / enable write counters?

There is a toggle in Settings that turns write counters on or off.

How to reset write counter for one amiibo?

If you need to reset the write counter for one amiibo, tap and hold on to that amiibo to bring the menu. Select Update number of writes menu and put 0 in the prompt.

How to reset all write counters?

To reset all write counters you need to tap on Reset button in the app settings.

How to delete/clear/reset my Collection list?

To delete the entire collection you need to go to phone Settings -> Your Apple ID -> iCloud -> Manage Storage -> Ally. And press the Delete Data button there.

What iPhone models are supported?

Ally can work on any iPhone with NFC starting from iPhone 7.

Why my iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus is not working with Ally?

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus has explicitly a very weak NFC chip. Try to hold iPhone 7 or 7 Plus for a bit longer next to the tag, and also, please remove the cover if you have one. We noticed that removing the cover significantly increases NFC power on iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Does Ally send amiibo data or any other data to developers or any other third party?

Ally is built with privacy in mind. That means that no data is sent to developers or any other third party. Ally does not send any amiibo data anywhere. Ally does not have any tracking tools in the app. All your amiibo data is stored privately under your iCloud account, and only you have access to it.
